Hi, I’m Iain
Let me tell you about my story, so that I’m not just another name on your screen.
In my teenage years my father started his own company. I became increasingly interested in the business, though he had no desire for me to come into the business until I’d proved myself.
On leaving university, I trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984.
I started my own accountancy practice in 1992, developed it and eventually sold it in 2007.
Then I had an adult gap year, bought a house in the North and took stock of what had been achieved over my first fifty years – and what I wanted to achieve going forwards.
I bought my first investment property in 2006 and have continued since then to acquire property for myself and other investors. Despite the unforeseen crash and the doom and gloom that hit the world economy, I remained convinced that property was the way to go to generate passive income and to top up my personal pension.
I struggled throughout 2008 and 2009 to find the right deals to make money.
The markets were constantly changing and I needed to change.
I invested in myself, attended several training courses and reinvested in my education to get my property knowledge back up to date so that I could now find properties with built in equity that generate high yields.
That quest for knowledge is unending. I am still a regular on training courses – keeping my own knowledge current and keeping up to date with the latest property trends.
Today, of course, I train other property investors – on taxation and how to legally reduce your tax bill and also how to invest in property.
Always seeking to be perfect, we procrastinated – and then it happened. We took action. In the twelve months to October 2011, and in the worst economic crisis this country has ever seen we purchased 18, yes, 18 more properties for my family, and for my private investors – and that investing continues.
All these properties have been purchased well Below Market Value with deposits and produce very healthy cash-flows.
We are generating passive income. No lottery wins, no silver spoon, just applying solid investing techniques.
Going forward, I very much look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals in property, while continuing to expand my portfolio. For if I can, You can.
It’s Not All About Property Though.
Although not a native until 2008, we live in God’s Country, the county of Northumberland.
Close enough to glorious beaches and the hills of the cheviots. Passionate people: passionate places.
A lifelong and some times long suffering supporter of all sport played by England, Fenella (my wife) and I had the good fortune to be in Sydney in 2003 to see England win the Rugby World Cup: probably one of the best days of our lives.
Two weeks later my Sister-in-law died from cancer. She was the same age as me, just 46.
Talk about a reality check and contrasting emotions.
So, please Enjoy Life, Live Every Day as if it could be your last – and like me Give Whatever you can, Whenever you can, to Cancer Research.
Carpe Diem,
